The Gunners have - according to reports - overtaken Monaco in the race to sign the AC Milan hitman and have submitted a £25m bid.

Balotelli has already been told that he can leave Milan in the summer following a change in management.

Monaco were thought to be lining up a swap deal which would see Radamel Falcao move the other way.

And Balotelli's agent has opened the door for his client to move to the Emirates.

"Arsenal is a fantastic club and anything is possible," Balotelli's representative Mino Raiola said.

With their chances of landing Karim Benzema very slim, should the Gunners land Balotelli, it would represent a major coup.
