Prince William loves TV drama with 8.4 IMDB rating - and gave approval to one of its stars
Prince William has spoken openly about a TV drama he loves - and one of the show's stars was surprised to know how deep the royal's link to the series runs

Prince William and Princess Catherine are known for their love of television. There is one TV spy drama that William absolutely loves - and he has even reached out to one of the show's stars.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been known to indulge in a number of television shows over the years. One of William's current favourites is an Apple TV programme featuring Sir Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jonathan Pryce.
With its twists, stellar cast and gritty tone, it is easy to see why William is hooked. Slow Horses has been renewed for a seventh and eighth season, while it has received critical acclaim along with a number of awards.
The heir to the throne has spoken in glowing terms of the show's star, Sir Gary. The Oscar-winning actor, who was knighted by the Prince in last year's birthday honours, was surprised to discover how far the future king's connection to the show extends.
Speaking to the Mail's Richard Eden, Sir Gary says the production borrowed a "very fancy expensive house" in London while filming the latest series.

The actor said: "The people there were friends of Prince William." He recalled how the house's owner told him: "Oh, I just got a text from Prince William. He says hi!" Sir Gary went on to admit: "I have a strange world."
Slow Horses boasts an impressive IMDB score of 8.4. The show focuses on Slough House, a banishment room for MI5 service rejects who have seriously failed - but not badly enough to be replaced.
Those consigned there are known as "slow horses", a play on the name of the place where they work. The boss, Sir Gary's character Jackson Lamb, anticipates workers will either leave out of boredom or frustration.
Prince William once made a brutally honest remark to the Oscar-winner, who won his gong for his portrayal of Sir Winston Churchill in the movie Darkest Hour. He told the actor: "I just want to give you a good wash."
The pair met when the Prince of Wales presented the veteran actor with a knighthood at Windsor Castle for his contribution to drama.

The filmmaker, who has won three BAFTAs and one Golden Globe, said: "It was William who said to me, 'Every time you come on the screen, I just want to give you a good wash'."
It recently emerged that William and his wife are also big fans of The Celebrity Traitors, with the second series wrapping on Friday (October 30).
Speaking on Palace Confidential on YouTube, Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English revealed: "Now, William and Catherine are massive Traitors fans. I can tell you that now. They love the programme. Absolutely glued to it."
The series sees a group of celebrities compete in a game of deception, with a select few secretly chosen as traitors who must deceive their fellow contestants - known as faithfuls - while avoiding detection. After a tense finale, two faithfuls - comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Sebastian 'Bash' Croft - were crowned the winners.
