Olympic taxi ads campaign 'to make pubs Fuller'

BREWER Fuller, Smith & Turner is hoping that 200 black cabs promoting its London Pride ale on the streets of the capital will boost demand from Olympics fans.

Fuller's chairman Michael Turner

Chairman Michael Turner said: “London Pride says it all. We believe the Olympics will be a big boost for us especially if it gets sunny.

“People will come into our pubs and watch the events on TV. Our brewery is at full tilt.”

Fuller said major events such as the Diamond Jubilee and Euro 2012 had already helped total sales rise 8 per cent in the past 15 weeks.

Pub refurbishments, making them look “crisper and more cared for”, also stoked demand. However rain had hit pubs with gardens leading to a 1.1 per cent dip in like-for-like sales.
