Emma Raducanu can console herself with a colossal net worth after missing out on a potential £3.6million payday. The British star had been due to compete at Wimbledon, only to withdraw on the eve of the tournament with an injury that also threatens her participation at the US Open.

Had Raducanu taken part, she would have been in contention for a slice of the increased £64.2m prize fund, up from £53.5m in 2025. The winners of both singles finals now collect £3.6m, with the runners-up banking £1.8m. Just advancing through a couple of rounds is a money-spinner. For instance, second-round losers pick up £126,000, while beaten quarter-finalists get £480,000. Therefore, Raducanu has missed out on an opportunity to boost both her bank balance and ranking points.

However, despite her mixed fortunes since winning the US Open as a teenager in 2021, the 23-year-old has no money concerns. On the contrary, as she boasts an estimated net worth of £14m.

Much of that wealth is thanks to a string of off-court endorsements with brands like Dior, Tiffany & Co, tennis equipment supplier Wilson, Evian, HSBC and British Airways. She previously had a lucrative partnership with Vodafone.

Her earnings on the court aren't too shabby either, almost £5m, including the £1.8m for winning the US Open five years ago. Recent paydays include just over £136,000 for reaching the final of the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club.

Whether she will be in contention for a piece of the £64m prize pot at the US Open, which begins in late-August, remains to be seen after she was diagnosed with a stress fracture in her shin.

Amid concerns over her fitness, Raducanu had looked set to play at Wimbledon and addressed the media at the All England Club the day before the tournament began. She said she was planning to take on Antonia Ruzic on Court One the following day but the situation changed hours later.

After being forced to miss her home Grand Slam for the second time in four years, she wrote on Instagram, "I can’t believe I’m saying this, but sadly I've had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon.

"I've done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow but after a final scan tonight, the niggle I've been managing has developed into a stress fracture and I’ve been medically advised to stop pushing through.

"Playing at Wimbledon, in front of a home crowd, means everything to me, so this is really difficult to process. I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement. Especially at a time like this, it is invaluable. I look forward to seeing you when I’m back."
