Emre Can could travel to Chelsea on Friday

JURGEN KLOPP is set to have Emre Can available for selection for Liverpool's trip to Chelsea on Friday, according to reports.

Emre Can - Spotlight on

The German midfielder has made just two appearances for the Reds this season - their opening day win over Arsenal and an EFL Cup showing.

Can suffered an ankle injury in their 5-0 win over Burton last month and has been sidelined ever since.

But the 22-year-old returned to training yesterday as he looks to try and win his place back among Klopp's starting XI.

The Liverpool Echo claim medical staff will monitor him throughout the week and providing there are no further set-backs, he is expected to be in contention for Friday's match.

Dejan Lovren is another player that will be assessed before Klopp makes his selection.

The defender was involved in a collision at Melwood on Friday and picked up a black eye that forced him to sit out of training.

Liverpool will be hoping to build on their 4-1 win over Premier League champions Leicester on Saturday, but will be in for a tough test against Antonio Conte's men, who remain unbeaten this season.
