Manchester United to 'terminate' contract of Spanish star after Louis van Gaal row

The goalkeeper joined United in January on an 18-month deal as a back-up for number one David De Gea.

But his time in Manchester turned sour after a row with Louis van Gaal over playing for the reserve team.

The 33-year-old has been made to train with the youth team and was not given a squad number this season.

And on Sunday, Valdes' wife lashed out at the club over not inviting him to their UNICEF dinner.

Reports in Spanish newspaper Sport say United are preparing to tear up Valdes' deal rather than attempting to receive a transfer fee for the player.

The reports suggests Celta Vigo as a possible destination for the former Barcelona goalkeeper when he leaves.
