Celebrity Traitors returned for more murders, a banishment and a recruitment. Having reached the halfway point, things are starting to get serious in the castle. During Thursday night's show, started with a face-to-face murder, where the potential victims were Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Ross Kemp – and it was comedian Rob who met his fate.

At the round table, Hannah Fry pleaded her case while James Blunt also drew suspicion and Joanne McNally accidentally threw herself into the mix. But it was the mathematician who was sent packing as her fellow traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, sealed her fate when they voted for her to be banished along with the faithfuls at the roundtable.

But despite all the deceit and dirty tricks some viewers were left disappointed as many took to X and issued the same complaint just minutes into the programme. One viewer wrote: "This series of Celebrity traitors is so boring, I’m devastated." Another remarked: "Same. It had such promise too as the cast was brilliant to start with." A third complained: "I hate to say it but I’m finding #CelebrityTraitors a bit boring."

A fourth commented: "This series of #CelebrityTraitors just isn’t hitting. We have Traitors who openly hate being Traitors, won’t make decisions, not working together and you don’t see them really having each others back - apart from @MayaJama - if they were all like her, it would be so different." A fifth remarked: "I became bored of #CelebrityTraitors last night I turned over. I’ve watched every UK series so far but it was rather dull."

Meanwhile, Rob Beckett was cruelly murdered and traitor Hannah was banished at the roundtable, fans were left frustrated after the two remaining traitors opted to recruit faithful King Kenny.

One viewer tweeted: "Why didn't Maya and James not even consider a murder? Getting rid of Miranda or Bash would've been the play for me #CelebrityTraitors."

Another penned: "I thought the murder was poor compared to previous face to face ones. There was no drama at all. It all felt flat to me #CelebrityTraitors."

A third mused: "#Celebritytraitors too many recruitments its boring too many traitors this year."

While a fourth added: "Sorry but James Acaster is the most boring Traitor in the history of the show #CelebrityTraitors."

It was not all bad news as other viewers admitted they are thrilled with the twists and turns so far in the series.
