Monster jailed for sex offences against six-year-old girl
A single Facebook rant about protecting kids forced a victim to finally name her.

A woman has been sentenced to prison after a 'hypocritical' Facebook post concerning another paedophile prompted her victim to come forward. Gemma Baker was convicted last week of 10 sexual offences against the girl, committed more than 20 years ago.
Her victim, now an adult, noticed Baker's comment regarding a paedophile receiving what she considered an insufficient prison sentence. The victim sent Baker a Facebook message stating: "You're lucky it's not you doing a prison sentence".
She labelled Baker, from Leicester, a "paedophile". Subsequently, upon discovering that Baker now had children of her own, she approached Leicestershire Police to report the abuse she had suffered at Baker's hands as a young girl, reports Leicestershire Live.
Baker, now 42, stood trial at Leicester Crown Court earlier this week. Following the jury's guilty verdict, she appeared before Judge Timothy Spencer KC for sentencing on Friday.
The judge handed down a six-year custodial sentence after she was convicted of 10 counts of gross indecency with a child between 1999 and 2004.
At the outset of the trial, prosecutor Nichoilas Corsellis KC informed the jury that the victim had "put the experience to the back of her mind and got on with her life the best she could" following the offences, before eventually coming forward in 2021.
During a video interview with police shown to the jury, the victim, who suffered abuse at Baker's hands between the ages of six and 11, recounted the first incident. She said: "We were in my bed.
"I had on a nightie and she put her hand up my nightie and down my underwear and ignored that I was crying. I remember saying it was hurting and she just ignored me.
"She never spoke about any of the incidents or told me not to tell anyone - I think she knew I was too scared to tell anyone."
