BRITs chaos as Jack Whitehall names one celebrity who never forgave brutal joke
Comedian Jack Whitehall has revealed which Hollywood actor was left unimpressed by his joke.

With the 2026 Brit Awards just hours away, its host, Jack Whitehall, has revealed which celebrity forced him to change a joke in his monologue. This year marks the sixth time that the comedian will return to the stage with an autocue full of unsuspecting gags aimed at its famous attendees, hoping to take home the highly coveted music awards. Jack initially hosted the star-studded ceremony for four consecutive years from 2018 before passing the duties to Mo Gilligan.
Now, with the likes of Lily Allen, Noel Gallagher, Olivia Dean and Calvis Harris expected to be in attendance, the host reflected on his previous years at the Brits and revealed how he avoids getting threatened by publicists. During a recent appearance on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio Show, the 37-year-old confirmed that no celebrities are warned about being mentioned in his jokes and stated: “That was one of the things I learnt relatively early on.

“If anyone gets wind of any intros or any jokes, then there’ll be complaints, and you’ll get threatened by publicists. They’re so on it.” Sharing his techniques, Jack revealed: “Now what I do is I do a dummy script in the rehearsal, so I do this monologue where I’m just complimenting everyone.
"All of the people in the room hear that and go, ‘Oh, Jack’s being really nice this year!’ Then on the actual show day, when it’s live television, and it’s too late to change anything, [it’s brutal].
"I had to lock myself in my dressing room and hide in the toilet because there were so many people trying to get in to tell me off and tell me I couldn’t say this about this artist.”

When probed about which celebrities couldn’t take a joke, the Bad Education star reflected: “I don’t know whether anyone’s taken it that badly on camera.
“We had one guy who actually… he didn’t like his intro, and then during the show, whilst I was up on stage hosting it, one of the producers found him by the autocue with his publicist, changing my script.
“Actually, deleting the intro and typing in his own one. Someone found him.” Jack then told Scott that it was the Academy Award-winning actor, Jared Leto.
The host disclosed: “He wanted me to introduce him as the biggest rock star on the planet, and I wasn’t on board with that. I wanted to introduce him as the ‘hipster Jesus’.”
