Speaking out in a candid new interview, the actor revealed he lost the money because of a fake phone message.

"It's upsetting, because it makes you feel foolish but these scammers are really clever," he told The Mirror. "I once got a text telling me a parcel hadn't been delivered but I could get it for something like £2.70. I did that and they took a couple of hundred quid."

Despite losing a small fortune, the on-screen star was grateful to get his money back.

In the show, Sally, 50, portrays Emma, a mum who travels to Cyprus, meets a man named Niko and finds herself in trouble, according to the Daily Star.

Over the years, Neil has become one of Britain's most recognisable celebrities, thanks to his iconic TV roles and personal life. He was taken into care at the age of 10 and spent most of his teenage years in Stoke-on-Trent.

From playing Tony in Men Behaving Badly to portraying Nigel Morton, a villain in the police drama Line of Duty, Neil has featured in some of the UK's most popular TV series over the years.

Folks might recall Neil for roles such as Deputy Head Eddie Lawson in BBC One's school-based drama series Waterloo Road, a surprise guest spot in Neighbours, and a short role in Death in Paradise. Besides these, he has portrayed Greg McConnell in ITV's The Good Karma Hospital since 2017.
